I am writing to thank you for the generous scholarship. I was very happy and appreciative to learn that I was selected as the recipient of this scholarship.
This whole scholarship and college plan has been a roller coaster ride for me. During my senior year of high school, I think I have changed what my college plans were three different times. My first goal was to go into a degree seeking knowledge in information technology. I wanted to attend SWOCC in Coos Bay, Oregon and after two years, transfer to OIT in Klamath Falls to complete my degree in IT. When that plan started to become complicated, I began looking into the OIT campus and what they offered as a four year institution. After seeing the cost for tuition and boarding fees, I was speechless. The loans and family contribution were too much for my family to handle. My final decision was strictly based on money. I decided to get my two year degree at the SWOCC campus in Brookings, Oregon in Digital Design while I live at home. I am also going to get Microsot and CISCO certified to enhance my degree and make me more desirable to future employers.
My dad is an expert when it comes to the IT field. I learned everything I know about computers from him. He is the one who advised me to take the Digital Design degree at SWOCC and get certifications as an alternative to a four year school. This scholarship will help me reach that goal.
I plan on working hard and completing this degree program with as little debt as possible. With all the scholarships I have been blessed to receive, I am proud to say that I will be able to pay a tuition at SWOCC in Brookings in full. Again, thank you for helping me begin my journey to a successful career.
