I am so thankful to be the recipient of both the Central Curry District-Freeman and the Alena Hall scholarship.  It means so much to me to have your support.  Following the path to becoming a nurse has not been an easy one at times, but your support will help to relieve the associate monetary concerns, by allowing me to focus more completely on my education and goals.

As you know, I am a single mother of two kids, and working while going to school can be very difficult at times.  I have chosen to obtain scholarships and take out student loans to make going to school and being a mother a priority.  Being a nurse has been a goal of mine for quite a long time, and I was unsure at times whether i could successfully complete my goal, while being dutiful to my other responsibilities.  I decided to go for it, and I am completely satisfied with my decision to do so.  The first year of nursing school has been both challenging and rewarding.  I really enjoy attending my clinical rotations and being in the hospital setting so much that now I don’t know which unit I will want to work on after graduation, as I like them all!  I love learning about the pathophysiological aspects of disease and the nursing methods to help my patient, pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically.  I feel like I am really living my dream and I am excited to educate and help others with this new knowledge.

Again, I am so appreciative of these awards, and I hope to make you very proudt that I was the recipient of them.
